SEEING, a new publication from Sounds Now, includes nine visual poems (niners) worked up from my sequence apparitions. The publication forms part of Sounds Now, a European network working to forge "structural change through greater inclusion and diversity in contemporary music and sound art". The publication also includes an essay by Katrien Schuermans on LGBTQI+ music spaces and nightlife. SEEING can be viewed digitally here, and more information about the organisation and info on free printed copies is here. The publication includes a QR code to access audio recordings of the work.
A handful of visual poems also appear in LA ALBA, a pdf from JUF of works responding to N.H. Pritchard.
Within the visual arrangement of the page and by slight shifts in spelling and tonal values, “LA ALBA'' defies the frames of coherence that affect experience and its expression. Taking N.H. PRICHARD’s poems THE VOICE and LA ALBA as a starting point, the contributions deal with a symbolic resistance to legibility by employing abstraction and elements of concrete and sound poetry such as extreme typographical dilation, the splicing of words, unconventional spacing and punctuation.
LA ALBA also features work by Ima-Abasi Okon and K.R.M. Mooney, and can be viewed here.
